✓ Introducing, The Master’s Collection - Our Master’s Collection showcases the highest quality matcha crafted by reputable tea producers from different regions of Japan. Each unique blend in this collection is perfect for enjoying neat, as traditional style usucha or koicha. This higher-end range is perfect for avid matcha fans looking to discover refined flavors.
✓ A Brand New Cultivar – Our Chiran Harvest Matcha is made using the Seimei cultivar. Why is it special? It is a new cultivar that was only registered in 2017. But more importantly, it is known for its vibrant green colour, incredible fragrance and very mellow, nutty taste.
✓ A Unique Matcha for Connoisseurs – When prepared as usucha, the Chiran Harvest Matcha froths up beautifully, unveiling an ultra-smooth and creamy texture with interesting notes of nutty umami malt. It boasts a delicate finish, showcasing subtle sweetness and no bitter aftertaste.
✓ Limited Quantities - Because the Seimei cultivar has not yet entered full-scale commercial production, quantity is limited and we sometimes run out of stock. Waiting times may vary depending on the month of the year. Only approximately 150 kg available each year.
✓ Proudly Made In Chiran, Kagoshima Prefecture - Once upon a time, Kagoshima tea was seen as cheap and low quality. This is no longer the case. In fact, many of them have adapted strongly to the regional climate and terroir to produce great matcha and teas that have begun to rival the best that places like Uji and Shizuoka have to offer.

Product description
Our best matcha yet
For the serious matcha enthusiast, we’ve come up with a new range that demonstrates the incredible range and versatility of flavors that are possible with matcha tea. If you enjoy matcha in its unadulterated form as usucha, koicha or some variant of matcha tea, then this is for you.
All our Master’s Collection matcha is single estate origin and available in limited quantities each year. Whether it’s an incredible new flavor or just a bona fide top-of-the-line blend, we’re confident that each blend released into our Master’s Collection brings something new to the table.
How do we do this?
As we our network grew in Japan, we came to know of tea growers pursuing innovation and improvement. They were starting to produce leaves that rivaled the best that Uji had to offer, yet were eager to experiment with new cultivars and techniques. So we linked them up with our tea blending experts and came up with a set of matcha blends that we knew would serve matcha lovers all around the world much better than anything already available on the market.
Introducing the Masters Collection
Select growers and tea estates
The leaves that eventually become our Masters Collection are patiently cultivated by smaller estates. They either grow the highest quality produce or are vigorously experimenting with new and exciting techniques.
Preserving tradition and finding new markets
These days, it is far more profitable to grow huge amounts of lower quality tea for use in bottled beverages and latte / smoothie mixes. Through the Master’s Collection, we hope to find an outlet for people to purchase and appreciate small batch, high quality matcha.
Created by tea masters, for your enjoyment
Our aim for the Master’s Collection is to create a range of high-end matcha for the matcha lovers. These are best enjoyed as matcha tea. We are confident that these offerings are as good, if not better than what is available from tea companies many many years older than us.
