Other Frank Hammond Works on Spiritual Warfare
The Saints at War Against Powers & Principalities
United in prayer, followers of Jesus can change the outcome of events and participate in bringing, in some form or fashion, the will of God in heaven to earth.
Christians are in conflict with demons and territorial spirits. This is nothing new... the prophet Daniel confronted the "prince of Persia" when interceding for the captive people of God.
Find out the role you can play in God's kingdom through the authority granted you in Christ Jesus.
The Perils of Passivity
Passivity is a foe to all believers in Christ – it can even hinder our intimacy with Jesus. Without an aggressive stance against the enemy, we can easily fall into passivity, and our service to the Lord can be limited. We lose our spiritual sharpness, which as Paul says, is necessary for us to be “sober, alert and diligent.”
We have observed the ways in which passivity works through our years in deliverance ministry. Passivity is a foe - it will even block deliverance. God has called us to war, and we must be vigilant, for we are not ignorant of Satan’s devices. If we lack a definite plan of aggression, we have become passive to some degree.
Praise: A Weapon of Warfare and Deliverance
As you praise the Lord, things begin to happen in the unseen realm.
In the Old Testament, the people of God didn’t have the name of Jesus as a weapon, but they did have praise. When Saul was troubled by an evil spirit, the only thing they knew to help him was to call David. What happened when David began to play on his harp and sing praise to his God? The evil spirit departed from King Saul. You can see why praise was so important to those Old Testament saints. You can see why they developed such a lifestyle of praise.
Spiritual Warfare for Unsaved Family
People often ask us as we travel to minister, "What can we do about family members? What can we do about friends and loved ones that are lost, or living a life of sin and taken over by the devil?" This question concerns the people in your life who are outside the family of God, but who do not want any help. They are simply not open for direct ministry.
Through spiritual warfare, intercessory prayer, and the ministry of love, we are able to help create the best possible environment around a loved one to come to know Jesus. But we must not lose our closeness with the Lord in the process, as these situations can be quite challenging to our spiritual walk.
