Pope Francis’s third encyclical

In Fratelli tutti, Pope Francis calls us to live out our Christian duty to see the face of Jesus in our neighbors, recognizing everyone we meet as a brother or sister. By fostering a genuine affection for all, we reaffirm the dignity of every human person created in the image and likeness of God.

We began to realize that our lives are interwoven with and sustained by ordinary people valiantly shaping the decisive events of our shared history… They understood that no one is saved alone.” (No. 54)

Human friendship

“A truly human and fraternal society will be capable of ensuring in an efficient and stable way that each of its members is accompanied at every stage of life. Not only by providing for their basic needs, but by enabling them to give the best of themselves, even though their performance may be less than optimum, their pace slow or their efficiency limited.” (No. 110)
