What is constipation?

Constipation/irregularity is a condition in which stools pass more slowly than usual through bowels (intestines). Constipation occurs when too much water is removed from the stools & they become hardened, making it difficult to have bowel movements.

How many Phillips' Laxative Caplets can I take for occasional constipation?

Adults and children 12 years and older: Take 2-4 caplets daily. Children under 12: Ask a doctor before use. Laxative caplets may be taken all at bedtime (preferable), or individually throughout the day.

Can any of the Phillips' Laxative Caplets be cut or crushed in half?

The caplets can be cut/crushed, as it will not affect their effectiveness.

Why do I have to take Phillips' Laxative Caplets with water?

Laxative Caplets should be taken with a full glass (8 ounces) of fluid. To allow the product to work properly, you need to increase the water content to promote a bowel movement.
