Activated Carbon Filter:
Our ostomy bags are made with effective odor resistant film and comes with a carbon filter, which can effectively filter the gas smell in the bag during exhaust and prevent peculiar smell.
Hook-and-Loop Closure:
The colostomy bag is easy to apply with the attached Hook-and-Loop Fasteners providing security you can feel as the plastic fasteners lock into place, easy to empty and irrigate.
Press hard to make sure the bag is sealed tightly.
Tips for usage:
The ostomy bag can last about 3-4 days if you don't let them fill over 1/3 or get too sweaty. Don't use it over 6 days, it may lose adhesive for such a long time.
Avoid running or exercising with the ostomy bag. Sweating may cause the tape that holds your pouch in place to loosen.
Bathing. You will need to keep the skin around the ostomy clean and dry. Avoid applying products that contain alcohol as they can cause dry skin. Do not use skin products made with oil. They will make it difficult for the pouch to stay attached. If you have hair on the skin surrounding the ostomy, you may need to keep it shaved so the pouch will stick.
If you place the barrier rings in well and use skin barrier liquid adhesive (not included) they will hold quite a bit longer.
With routine cleaning of warm water helps keep the seal.
Notes:
Intended for use by patients with stoma problems.
Change the bag more frequently if used for ileostomy, because the excrement of ileostomy is in liquid form and has digestive enzymes, more irritating to the skin than another colostomy.
Adhesive ability will be affected by continuous use.
If the bag is full of air, venting through the observation window is allowed by placing a small hole at the top of the bag. Ostomy bags cannot be thrown directly into the toilet or cloaca and should be disposed of properly.
Patients allergenic to adhesive should use it with caution.
Tips:
1.Get the right type of ostomy skin barrier
Our flat wafers fit for those whose stomas protrude from the body more than a quarter of an inch. The flat wafer is very flexible in order to accommodate the contours of one’s body.
NOTE: For shorter stoma protrusions, or for the stomas that lay flat or retreat inwards from the skin, the better option may be a convex wafer.
2. Measure your stoma to get the right size for your skin barrier
A skin barrier that doesn’t provide a snug fit may allow stomal output to seep under or around it, which results in leakage.
Stoma sizes and shapes can gradually alter over time. It’s important to regularly measure your stoma to be sure you’re still getting a good snug fit.
3. Apply your ostomy skin barrier to clean, dry, shaved skin
Be sure your peristomal skin is dry before applying your pouching system.
If you have body hair in the peristomal area, carefully shave the area with a clean safety razor.
4. Consider using an ostomy belt for additional security.
If your ostomy pouch leakage occurs most frequently during physical activity or movement, you may need additional support in the form of an ostomy belt.
5. Make sure you’re emptying or changing out your pouch
The fuller your ostomy bag gets, the more it weighs down and pulls against the seal around your stoma. Just empty your pouch as soon as it’s around 1/3 full.
Also, if you primarily experience leaks during the nighttime, be sure to empty your pouch before bed as well.
