The Story of Leifeng Pagoda

Leifeng Pagoda, located in Xihu District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is located on the Xizhao Mountain on the south bank of the West Lake Scenic Area. It was built by King Qian Chu of Wuyue to worship the Buddha's conch bun hair relic and pray for the peace of the country and the people.

It was built in the second year of Taiping and rejuvenation in the Northern Song Dynasty, and has been rebuilt many times in the past. The existing building was designed with the original Leifeng Pagoda as the prototype and was rebuilt in 2002; it is one of the "Ten Scenes of the West Lake", one of the nine famous pagodas in China, and the first colored copper tower in China.
