Several years ago, my life nearly ended. In the words of the emergency room physician: “You’re one step away from a coma, two steps away from dying."

And while I’m glad I’m still here, this ordeal changed me forever. It was a stark reminder that I’ll spend a lot more time in the afterlife than in this temporary home – and so it’s worth the effort to thoroughly investigate what awaits us after the grave.
