About the Book
When Sr. Miriam James Heidland’s life as a successful college athlete proved unfulfilling, she went searching for something deeper and ended up falling in love with Jesus. In Loved as I Am, Heidland shares her struggles—learning she was adopted, battling alcoholism, and healing from childhood sexual abuse—as signs of hope that anyone who desires to know Christ can find him and be loved intimately by him in return.
Loved as I Am Focuses on:
Brokenness
Whether you struggle with addiction, a painful past, or a lie from Satan, there is always forgiveness and opportunities for redemption; this is what Heidland shows us, using her own story, Scripture, and practical advice and reassurance.
Healing
Healing from wounds is not a one-time step, but a process. Heidland describes how love and comfort set her on the path to her wounds being healed, and ultimately leading her into freedom.
Freedom
Heidland succinctly states, "People are meant to be loved, not fixed." She explains how Jesus' perfect love does not constrain or limit us, but as he shares our experiences and pain with us, provides a level of love that brings us back to spiritual life.
