How to replace or repair shoji screen
1. ONAO shoji paper is ideal for repairing torn shoji screens. Please choose appropriate paper size taking into account the width of the frame of screen.
2. Cut the parts of shoji you want to replace along the inside of the frame. Leave an old shoji paper on the frame.
3. First, replace one line horizontally. If you want to replace the whole paper of the shoji door, keep the shoji door lying down and do the same step to each row one by one.
4. Apply shoji glue on the old paper remaining on the frame. ONAO shoji glue is convenient because you can use it without a brush.
5. Hold both ends of the shoji paper, applying light tension, and carefully attach the paper to the row you want to paste. While adjusting the paper so that it does not shift out from the frame, lightly trace it with your finger to attach the glue to the shoji paper.
6. After the glue gets half dry, apply a ruler to cut off any unnecessary parts.
The photo uses ONAO's shoji ruler. If you do not have shoji ruler, please use a general office ruler.
7. When you are concerned about the looseness of the paper, allow the glue to dry completely. Then, spray a small amount of water lightly and evenly.
*When you want to change the color of only a part in the column
Paste the base color shoji paper on the entire row in advance. After that, it is efficient to cut out only the part you want to change the color and replace it.
Decorate your interior beautifully!!
For shoji doors and shoji screens, it is possible to create a beautiful interior space simply by changing some paper's color.
As Japan's leading shoji paper brand, ONAO is making colored shoji paper in addition to white.
