Measure your Seat Cushion Before Purchasing

The Universal Stand Assist is designed to fit a wide range of chairs, but it's important to measure your seat cushion for optimal compatibility. For the best results:

Make sure the cushion width is between 19" and 26", depth is at least 24", and height of the bottom of the cushion is between 12"-21".
If your cushion height is less than 12", don't worry - you can still use this product with an easy installation adjustment. Just install the frame over the top of the cushion rather than beneath it.

How to Install on the Chair

The Universal Stand Assist can be installed one of two ways:

Underneath the seat cushion - best for removable seat cushions
Over the top of the cushion - best for cushions that are attached to the chair and on recliners

Adjusting the Handle Height

The handles of the Universal Stand Assist adjust 7" to 10". The exact handle height from the floor will depend on:

The height of your seat cushion
Whether the Stand Assist is installed underneath or over the top of the seat cushion

Installing on a Reclining Chair or Sofa

Please consider the following before purchasing for use on a recliner:

The Stand Assist will not work on recliners with seat cushions wider than 26″.
The Stand Assist will not work on recliners with leg rests that flair to the edges of the recliners making the leg rest wider than the seat cushion.
Place the frame so that it rests in the creases of the cushion and adjust feet to be as close to 90° as possible.

Does the Universal Stand Assist install underneath or over the top of the seat cushion?

The Universal Stand Assist can be installed multiple ways. If you have removeable cushions, slide the Universal Stand Assist underneath the seat cushion. If your cushion is stitched (or permanently attached to the chair), slide it over the top.

How high do the handles adjust?

The handles adjust 7" to 10" above the horizontal frame. The exact handle height will depend on the height of your seat cushion and whether you have installed the Stand Assist beneath or over the top of the cushion.

How does the Universal Stand Assist work?

Once installed on the furniture, use the assist handles to pull yourself to the edge of the cushion and push yourself up to a standing position. You can also use the handles to lower yourself slowly into the chair.
