The Cable Matters Infrared Extender Cable allows you to control your Blu-ray player, CATV box, or other video sources from your TV, even if a soundbar is blocking the IR sensor. It's perfect for home theater components hidden in a cabinet or closet.
Important Notes
1) Test the cable before securing it with the adhesive backing. 2) Ensure your TV’s USB port provides 5V power, or use a 1-amp USB wall charger. 3) Not compatible with set-top boxes that use RF (radio frequency) signals. 4) Bright sunlight or CFL bulbs may cause interference with IR signals.
Installation Guide
IR Receiver (Larger Head) for a Hand-Held Remote: 1) Place near the TV, within 15 feet of the remote. 2) Has a 30-degree operating range. 3) LED flashes to confirm signal reception. Tip: If the signal isn’t received, check your remote’s battery.
IR Transmitter (Smaller Head) from Source: Position within 5 inches of the source device (e.g., STB, Blu-ray player), Ensure the IR transmitter bulb has a clear line of sight to the device’s IR sensor. Tip: Locate the IR sensor by shining a flashlight on the device.
USB Power Boost: Use a 1-amp USB wall charger if your TV's USB port doesn't provide 5V power. The USB Y-cable is 6 feet long.
IR Compatibility: Supports 30-60 KHz receiving frequency. Be aware that CFL bulbs or bright light may cause interference.
Lightweight Extender Cable: Flexible wire is easy to secure. Coil any excess wire with a cable tie.
