The exact OEM size match allows Captain O-Ring’s 151122 o-rings to drop right into your compatible housing with the perfect fit. They won’t pinch or move during installation and won’t bind up during removal when it comes time for your next filter change.

Captain O-Ring’s 151122 o-rings are packed flat in their package, rather than curled up like other brands. This allows the o-ring to easily fit into your housing right out of the package. No more wrestling with the o-ring to keep it flat in your filter housing during install.

This replacement Pentek 151122 O-ring is used to seal water filter housings. It has an inside diameter of 5-1/2" and outside diameter of just over 5-3/4 inches and is made of nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) for flexibility and resistance to abrasion and tearing. The o-ring is compatible with Pentair/Pentek Big Blue filter housings and many other brand's housings, which are used in various applications, such as drinking water purification, industrial processes, and more (see housing compatibility and full list of replacement part numbers above).

How often do I need to change my filter housing's o-ring?

Captain O-Ring's high quality replacement water filter housing o-rings are designed for reliable extended use. Still, it is typically recommended to replace your o-ring on every third filter change to ensure it is in top shape to prevent leaks.

Can I use grease or lubricant on these o-rings?

Since Captain O-Ring supplies high quality o-rings without surface imperfections or tacky/sticky surface texture, lubrication is typically not needed if the filter housing sealing surfaces are clean and free of debris. Simply wet the o-rings with water before installing. However, if lubrication is preferred, these Buna Nitrile rubber o-rings are compatible with silicone based and petroleum based lubricants, as well as natural lubricants like vegetable oil.

What if I don't know what o-ring part number my filter housing needs?
