Step 1

Place dough into the non-stick coated cavities, making sure it does not overflow on to the flat plate surface.

Step 2

Close the lid and let cook for approximately 7-10 minutes, until fully cooked.

Step 3

After the arepas are ready, carefully remove them by using an oven mitt and a heat-resistant wood or plastic spatula. Enjoy!

Tips

Place the arepas on a wire rack to cool down for a few minutes. Do not pile them on top of one another after cooked, otherwise they will soften
Make sure the arepa dough ball does not overfill the cooking surface because the arepa will not cook all the way through
If the dough is too soft and hard to manage, place more flour and knead until it is easy to make a small ball. Make sure the dough is not too dry, it should be soft to touch
To extend the lifespan of the non-stick coating, it is recommended to cover the plates with cooking oil every so often
