The included inserts give you the best of both worlds, allowing you to prepare a combination of healthy empanadas and arepas. In only minutes, your treats are ready to enjoy. It's as easy as 1,2,3: simply roll your dough in a ball, place it in the center of the maker to bake your arepas. For your empanadas, just fill the dough with your favorite ingredients, place on the inserts and bake.

A stuffed bread or pastry baked or fried in many countries in Latin America. It is also known as turnovers or pirogies.

Steps to Make Empanadas with the Included Plastic Sheet and Inserts

Place the plastic sheet on a flat surface. Place the empanada corn dough ball on the center of the printed circle. Strech out the dough to the edge of the circle by using your fingers.

Place your favorite ingredient in the center of the dough. Do not overfill.

Grab the two top edges of the plastic sheet and fold over the dotted line. Press the edges of the dough around the printed line. Grab the two top edges of the plastic sheet and peel it back. Remove the excess dough (if any) from the edges by using your fingers.

Place the empanada inserts on the round cavity of the maker to make 4 empanadas.

Carefully remove the empanada from the plastic sheet and place the empanada dough in the maker, making sure it is in the right position on the nonstick plate on top of the empanada shape. Serve hot and enjoy!
