With a soft, comfortable construction, cushioned footbed and covered toe, kids on the go don't have to worry about watching their step. Weighing 5.3 oz / 150.3 g (per sandal), made with durable, polyester and featuring a moisture-wicking lining, the Moxie Closed Toe Sandal is built off KEEN’s traditional wider footwear form. KEEN products are consciously created using a natural, pesticide-free probiotic-based technology called Eco Anti-Odor for breaking down odor in sweat, PFC-free water repellent (in applicable styles) and leather sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG)-certified tanneries. PFCs (perfluorinated chemicals) are used everywhere in the outdoor industry.
They create a dense coating on fabrics; water beads up instead of soaking in.
They’re durable, and they do a good job. However, they’re also suspected carcinogens and break down very slowly.
So we switched to nontoxic, alternatives that are just as effective, yet safe.
Today we are over 95% PFC-free.
