From the Publisher
Learning cursive handwriting in children offers numerous benefits to a child’s brain development. It stimulates regions in the brain, such as areas of thinking, language, and working memory. It can also help with one’s writing speed, legibility, and spelling words. Cursive encourages a child to visualize each letter as a united word, which makes it easier to remember or memorize the words they are writing or forming.
As your child learns with each letter – whether easy or challenging – they will gradually develop the skills needed to write even tricky letters in cursive with confidence. The learning process must be lined with as many successes as possible to boost your child’s motivation to learn. This book, therefore, proceeds step by step. The individual lower and upper case letters – from A to Z – and words containing the letter are presented one after the other. Ideally, the next letter should be started when the previous one has already been memorized.

STEP 1 Practice writing each letter of the alphabet.
Every letter is a new territory for your child. The first step is to get to know the letter and practice through the correct pen guidance by simply tracing it. If your child is still struggling after the first pass, the process can easily be repeated with a new pen in a different color.
STEP 2 Let’s start writing simple words.
This is followed by words containing the letters they have just learned. So your child learns to put the letters in a word. Encourage them to read the word aloud - this will directly practice the corresponding sound.
STEP 3 Fill up the lines by copying the sentences.
Finally, as they grow more confident in writing cursive words, they can now proceed to writing simple sentences. This can help them better understand how the words are used and what it means.
