This is due to using tap water that is over hardness rating is OVER 60mg/L. If your water hardness rating is OVER 60mg/L, use distilled water to fill the humidifier.

Yes, the humidifier does come with a filter, and it is recommended it is replaced after 300 hours of normal use. Replacement filters can be purchased by clicking the “Replacement Filter” option on the top of the page.
