First issued by Britain’s Ministry of Defense, this watch strap was designed to be tough, lightweight, and failsafe. Archer Watch Straps honors this esteemed history with our own Classic Military Style Nylon Strap, pairing sleek, premium nylon with rugged, waterproof, stainless steel hardware.


The “Y-Strap” This signature pass-through system is what really makes the military style strap. Having a shorter, “side” strap off the main band allows you to pass the fabric through the watch itself, before reattaching to the strap. Not only does this feature make the piece fit more securely, it also provides a failsafe back-up, so you don’t lose your watch – if one spring bar happens to fail, the other will hold that loop. This safeguard is one of the reasons why our nylon strap appeals to divers, skiers and snowboarders, bike riders, and anyone else on-the-go.	The “Mil-spec” Buckle So what if the spring bar on the buckle itself fails? Well, keeping to tradition, the buckle on the Archer Watch Straps Classic Military Style Nylon Watch Strap doesn’t have a spring bar. That’s right. Just a solid clasp of clean, stainless steel. This steadfast, military specification, or “mil-spec,” buckle is a lauded detail among true watch enthusiasts.	A Nod to Tradition When the Ministry of Defense first issued this strap, it came standard: Size – 20mm. Color – Admiralty Grey. Now, we’ll admit… here at Archer Watch Straps, we offer a lot more variety. But to be fair, it didn’t take long for the original G–10 to get a few new shades either. So, if you’re feeling truly traditional, slip on our 20mm Gray band. And if you want to change your look, go ahead and mix and match! You can remove and replace your nylon watch strap with a new color in seconds – no tools required.

Thousands of customers love the style of our nylon watch straps. They’re simple, classic, and confident, but never too fancy, or over the top. We love the look so much that it’s easy to forget these bands were originally built to hold up in the field. True to military form, our hardware is comprised of polished stainless steel, our nylon woven with rugged, heavy-duty stitching. And yet for all of its durability, Archer Watch Straps' Classic Military Style Strap remains surprisingly lightweight and breathable. It will not warp with sweat, nor rain, nor wear. And hey, if it takes a beating in the elements, no problem – just toss it in the washer. Resilient, reliable, refined – we’re not going to say this is the perfect watch strap. But we’re not… not going to say that.

The Band of Bond

The classic nylon watch strap boasts long standing in 007 lore. Sir Sean Connery first donned the band in Goldfinger, and more recently, Daniel Craig’s Bond revived the classic strap in Spectre. Here at Archer Watch Straps, we pay homage to these dashing Double-0s with two of our signature straps. If you’re feeling Craig’s modern take, our “James Bond” strap is sleek and subdued, lined with simple stripes of black and gray. But if you want that old-school Connery flair, check out our “Vintage Bond,” a handsome black with stripes of red and army green.

The Unique Military Style Fit


Choose the Right Size Our Classic Nylon Straps come in 18mm, 20mm, 22mm, and 24mm. These sizes refer to the lug width, or the space between your watch’s lugs – the small points on either side of the face, where the end of the strap attaches. Be sure to carefully measure your watch's lug width before ordering. If you’re not sure about how to properly measure your lug width, please refer to your watch manufacturer’s specs.	Tuck Away Any Excess Length Now if you’re not used to wearing a military style strap, you might notice some interesting details about the fit. Per its general-issue origins, our classic nylon strap comes in one length. You will most likely have a bit of slack after tightening the strap to a comfortable fit. And that’s okay! The band is cleverly designed so that this excess fabric tucks away cleanly, neatly, and dare we say, fashionably.	Not Ideal for Smart Watches Due to the design of the military style strap, there will be a layer of fabric in between your watch and your wrist, blocking the biometric sensors on most smart watches. If that’s a deal breaker, no problem – check out one of our many quick-release straps, which work perfectly with most smart watches. But if, like us, you can sacrifice text notifications for classic, authentic style, stick with our tried and true military style strap.
