What is AlterLock?

Alterlock is an advanced anti-theft alarm and GPS tracking device designed for a wide range of vehicles. Paired with our proprietary app, it allows you to monitor your ride from any distance.

When the device detects movement, a loud alarm is triggered, and a notification is sent instantly to your smartphone. In the unfortunate event of theft, Alterlock's GPS tracking feature will help you locate and recover your vehicle swiftly.

When the alarm is triggered for the second time, the device will go into tracking mode and starts sending location data. Location data is updated every time the device detects pause in motion. This is to increase the chance of recovery by logging the last stopped location to find your stashed vehicle.
AlterLock will perform periodic transmission every 6~24 hours (depending on your setting) as a back-up option in case your vehicle is stolen when not in LOCK mode.

How the Device Works

LOCK the device

Change the device to LOCK mode via the app, this will set the device ON and your device is now ready to monitor your vehicle.

User can choose from three different method to change modes.

Via the app
Physical button (works only when registered phone is within BLE distance)
Auto Lock(automatically LOCK the device when BLE strength drops below certain level)

Alarm is set off

When movement is detected, a loud alarm sounding up to 95 dB is set off to deter theft. The detection sensitivity and alarm activation time can be adjusted to accommodate various situations.

Alarm duration can be adjusted from 5 ~ 60 seconds (in 5 seconds increment).
Alarm sound can be turned off to make the device work as silent alarm.
3 different tones to choose from.
You can choose between up to three alarms or unlimited alarms.

Notification sent

Push notification is received via Bluetooth over short distances and LTE-M / NB-IoT transmission over long distances. A unique notification tone will alert you that you need to rush to the scene immediately to take action against possible theft.

Using sophisticated algorithm, AlterLock will identify the method with highest accuracy to acquire its current position.

While in tracking mode, the device will collect location data whenever it sense stillness for few seconds.

How to check your area

AlterLock Gen3 transmission is largely covered within the United States of America around the city areas as well as suburban areas.

Installation Recommendation

Bicycle security

AlterLock comes with two security bolts (20mm length) and a wrench so you can mount the device together with a bottle cage.

The device has waterproof index of IP66 making it possible to wash the bike while the device is still mounted on the bike.

Motor cycle security

AlterLock can be used with motor cycle, it can detect a movement just as it would just like a bicycle.

We recommend placing the device inside the seat where it already has a lock as initial guard against theft.

When stowing the device inside a motor cycle, make sure that the device is not enclosed within a metal case so that the signal can be sent out.

AlterLock Gen3 has operational temperature range of 0 – 45°C （32F～113F）. When storing in a motorcycle please be sure that the stored area will not exceed beyond the operational temperature. Doing so may cause the device to malfunction or ultimately break.

Car security

AlterLock can also be used within a car.

We recommend placing the device in a place away from thieves eyes.

When stowing the device inside a car, make sure that the device is not enclosed within a metal case so that the signal can be sent out.

AlterLock users can gain access to these awesome functions with the subscription into our service.

Alert sent to your phone when the device senses movement while in LOCK mode. This function requires data transmission via Cloud Service, therefore needing monthly fee.
Location tracking via GPS.
Manage up to 3 devices under one user account with no additional charge!

No Subscription

AlterLock users can gain access to these limited but powerful functions without the subscription into our service.

Alarm sound when device detects motion while in LOCK mode. Alarm can be set when the device is connected via Bluetooth in close range (however, you will not receive a remote notification to your phone).
Will not be able to receive GPS tracking when outside of Bluetooth range.
Manage up to 1 single device.
