America's most prestigious children's book award, the Newbery Medal is presented each year by the Association for Library Service for Children, a division of the American Library Association. Named after John Newbery, an 18th century English publisher, the Newbery is given to the author "of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children." Dover is proud to present some of the greatest and most memorable stories ever written for young readers by Newbery winners and honorees.
