NOTE: Before you buy, please know that this USB disc drive can only start working after it is connected it to a laptop/desktop.(Please check clearly with the title "Not Compatible with")
1. This disc drive won't work with iPad/Tablet/Projector/TV/Chrome OS/Car/Smart Phone/Blu-ray Disc. Remember to set the DVD Region to United States on the player – "Properties" – click "Hardware Tab" – click "Properties button" – then choose "country Region" (US is 1) and OK to apply. Remember you can only reset the country 5 times.
2. For Mac OS computers, when this CD burner USB is playing a disc for CD/DVD, if you want to eject the disc, please click the icon of "Eject" icon in the playback software or from the computer system. It is invalid to eject the disc directly by pressing the eject button on of the front panel.
3. Don't place this DVD drive for laptop near strong magnetic objects. Keep this DVD drive for pc stable on the desktop, don't place it on unstable objects and don't place this DVD drive for desktop in a vulnerable place, to ensure successful normal use.
4. The internal laser beam may be dangerous to your eyes, please don't stare directly at the beam. The data transfer speed will also be affected by the computer and system environment.
5. Your computer does not natively support DVD movie playback, so you will need to download and install a third-party application, such as VLC, to watch DVDs with this CD drive USB. You could download one of the many burning software utilities available on the Internet.
Or try the following:1) Free playback software: Any media player, any DVD. 2) Free burning software for Windows OS: InfraRecorder, Ones, Express Disc Burner. 3) Free burning software for Mac OS Burn for Mac. 4) Free disc burning software for Linux OS/Unix OS K3b (KDE Burn Baby Burn).
If your computer doesn't recognize this CD drive external or it doesn't play well:
1. This CD drive for pc should be connected directly to the USB or USB C port on your laptop and not to a USB hub.
2. For desktop, we recommend connecting the data cable to the back USB port of the motherboard instead of the front USB port of the motherboard.
3. Ensure the CD is well placed and not scratched. Make sure there is a practical driver software installed. Or try on another computer.
4. It's better to use the external power adapter to increase the power if your devices don't have enough power to support the DVD drive external.
5. Make sure your computer has a driver (VLC Media Player or other player software.) before using the external CD rom drive.
6. Mac OS computers do not display the device icon before placing a disc in the disc tray. Just because you have a series of video files doesn’t mean they are compatible with DVDs. In fact, most computer and phone video formats are not compatible. So you need a third-party software to convert your file format to one that can be shown on discs. It won't work even you burn your file onto discs without converting format.
