Shakespeare
For over a century, Shakespeare has maintained a tradition of quality and innovation. This is particularly evident in our marine antenna lines, as our products have set the gold standard in the industry. For example, our engineers developed low angle radiation techniques in marine antennas in the 1960s. Other milestones include the introduction of fiberglass radomes, hand soldered connections, brass and copper elements, silver plating, and metal ferrules for demanding conditions.
Since the 1970s, Shakespeare Classic Antennas have always been made to provide basic communication and navigation capabilities. The Classic Series covers the widest variety of vessels in the Shakespeare family.
VHF MARINE RADIOS: quality Shakespeare antennas
COST-EFFECTIVE: primary need on most vessels
VHF EQUIPMENT IS INSTALLED: on all large ships and most seagoing small craft, and is also used on rivers and lakes
VHF RADIO FREQUENCY: 156.0 to 162.025 MHz.
TRANSMISSION POWER BETWEEN: 1 and 25 watts, with a small craft effective range of about 5 nautical miles (9 km; 6 mi) between antennas.
5101 Classic VHF Antenna
8’ (2.4m) VHF Marine Band 6dB.
End-fed with matching stub.
A new standard of excellence in an economical antenna! Shakespeare brings you the best of the high-end features in an 8ft antenna with a brass element and a smooth, high gloss, polyurethane finish that won’t turn yellow in the sun. This antenna delivers not only performance, but superb value.
5206-N Classic VHF Antenna
8’ (2.4m) VHF Marine Band 6dB.
End-fed with matching stub.
An economical and lightweight, self-supporting antenna for good communications where range is not the predominant factor. The 5206-N has a nylon ferrule.
5215 Classic VHF Squatty Body Antenna
3′ (0.9m) VHF Marine Band 3dB.
Communication performance over VHF marine frequencies is optimized with the master craftsmanship of this Classic 5215 Squatty Body, built with extra bandwidth for all popular AIS transceivers. The lightweight, low-profile, stainless steel VHF antenna stands at 3′ tall and is designed for masthead mounting to enhance transmission quality.
5241-R Classic VHF Antenna
3′ (0.9m) VHF Marine Band 3dB.
Shakespeare engineers constantly push the limits to succeed and conquer innovative antennas that fit the varying, yet specific needs of boaters. The Classic 5241-R VHF antenna fulfills the need of bass boats, center console fishing boats, or any vessels where compact size is most important. Measuring in at 3′, the sealed, tin-plated copper wire coil delivers quality performance while the heavy-duty stainless steel whip maintains extra stability at high speeds.
4187 Ratchet Mount
Stainless Steel Ratchet Mount.
Versatile four-way ratchet design for deck or side mounting. Quick-action handle makes operation easy.
4186-U Ratchet Mount (Unassembled)
Ratchet Mount.
Four-way ratchet design with handle, for deck or side mounting. Not for use with antennas longer than 8ft in self-supporting mode, as this nullifies all warranties.
PL-258-CP-G Connector
The perfect solution to the troublesome task of installing a PL-259 connector or splicing RG-58 A/U, RG-8/X or Lo-Max coaxial cables. Shakespeare’s revolutionary Centerpin connectors are solderless, fret-less, and botchless. They go on without a hitch, without soldering skills. No measuring, no critical stripping of coax insulation, no fussing with the coax’s braid, and no tinning.
