WHISKEY: BURMINGHAM SOUR
FOR 1 GLASS – PREPARATION: 5 MINUTES
30 ml (1 fl oz) lemon juice, freshly squeezed
20 ml (²∕3 fl oz) cane sugar syrup
10 ml (¹∕3 fl oz) red wine
60 ml (2 fl oz) rye whiskey
1 Into a shaker filled with ice, pour the lemon juice, sugar syrup, red wine and rye whiskey.
2 Shake, then pour through a strainer into an old fashioned glass.
GIN: THE GARRISON
FOR 1 GLASS – PREPARATION: 5 MINUTES
40 ml (1¹∕3 fl oz) gin
15 ml (½ fl oz) cane sugar syrup
15 ml (½ fl oz) lemon juice, freshly squeezed
20 ml (²∕3 fl oz) blackberry liqueur
1 fresh blackberry, for garnish
1 Pour the gin, sugar syrup, lemon juice and liqueur into a shaker filled with ice.
2 Mix well and pour through a strainer into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a blackberry.
OTHER SPIRITS: DERBY
FOR 1 GLASS – PREPARATION: 5 MINUTES
60 ml (2 fl oz) Cognac
15 ml (½ fl oz) triple sec (such as Cointreau)
10 ml (¹∕3 fl oz) lemon juice, freshly squeezed, plus zest for garnish
2 dashes of Angostura Aromatic Bitters
Sugar, for decoration
1 Into a shaker filled with ice, pour the Cognac, the liqueur, the lemon juice and the bitters. Shake.
2 Create a sugar frosted rim on a tall stemmed glass and fill with crushed ice. Strain the cocktail into the glass and add slices of lemon zest.
