With their beloved Andy preparing to leave for college, Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the toys find themselves headed for the attic but mistakenly wind up on the curb with the trash. When all the toys but Woody end up being donated to a day-care center full of uncontrollable kids who do not play nice, Woody and the gang make plans for a great escape.

Woody and the gang go on a road trip with new toy Forky, who's convinced he's trash and doesn't yet understand his role in the world. Along the way, Woody is unexpectedly reunited with his long-lost friend Bo Peep and finds himself faced with a decision, and a future he never imagined.
