Take off the Probe cover

Hold the Probe vertically against the diamond

For diamonds: 9 or more lights will turn on

For fake ones: fewer than 9 lights will turn on

For incorrect contact: the lights will flash

Real diamonds usually fluoresce blue under ultraviolet light

Installed in the detector

Steps to use the diamond test pen

1. Remove the pen cap

2. Press the power switch and slide it to the "diamond" position. The red light POWER will light up and the tester will start preheating

3. Preheat for 25 seconds, the green light READY will light up, the tester is ready and you can start testing

4. The conductive metal plate on the side must be touched during the test

5. Keep the test pen vertical to the diamond

Real diamonds will light up a red LED and make a clear sound

Fake diamonds will light up a green or yellow LED and will not make a clear sound

7. Slide the switch on the tester to the "ultraviolet" position . Real diamonds usually have blue fluorescence

8. Note: The probe can only touch the diamond gemstone, not metal or skin, to avoid false results

Can this diamond tester detect all types of diamonds?
Yes, it can detect natural diamonds and most lab-grown diamonds. For simulants like moissanite, we recommend using the built-in UV light or seeking professional verification for best accuracy.
Can it distinguish between diamonds and moissanite?
This tester is based on thermal conductivity, so moissanite—which has similar thermal properties—may not always be distinguished. However, the built-in UV light can help as an additional screening tool.
