William Grover 'Papa' Bernard, founder of Vitamix, started as a travelling salesman of kitchen products in 1921. He connected the value of whole food nutrition to health and well-being. After being introduced to the blender in 1937, Bernard knew the product could be utilized to make concoctions from whole foods that were both healthy and delicious. He created the first U.S. infomercial in 1949 to demonstrate his Vitamix blender, and the rest is history. Today, Vitamix is synonymous with the word 'blender', producing a line of beverage and food processing units, as well as frozen treat mixers.
